How to make Ube Puto Flan

  • Prep time: 10 minutes
  • Cooking time: 7 minutes
  • Yields: 8 Puto Flan

Ingredients

  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 4 Egg Yolks
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Meanwhile, coat molder with cooking spray or brush it with melted butter. Evenly divide flan into 8 molders. Cover with a cotton cloth before placing the steam cover. Steam for 7 minutes. Cool down. Meanwhile, prepare the rice cake batter.

  • Prep time: 10 minutes
  • Cook time: 7 minutes
  • Yields: 8 Rice Cakes

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Rice Flower
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 Cup water
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar – optional. The flan is sweet already.
  • 2 tsbp ube extract

Bring a big pot of water to a boil.

Meanwhile, combine all ingredients making sure they are smooth and no lumps.

Pour and divide evenly into the flan.

Cover with a cotton cloth on top.

Cover with the lid.

Steam for 7 to 8 minutes.

Uncover

Remove cloth.

Remove rice cakes from the molder. Serve.
