ADOBONG PUSIT/SAUTEED SQUID SA LABANOS
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes or less
Yields: 3 to servings with steamed rice
4 tbsp cooking oil
1 small onion, peeled and chopped
1 large tomato, (1 cup) chopped
1/2 knob (1 oz) ginger, peeled and chopped
5 cloves garlic, minced
450 grams squid, spine or cartilage removed and washed thoroughly with cold water. then soaked in 1/2 cup palm vinegar with 3 dried bay leaves for 30 minutes.
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1 tbsp Knorr Liquid seasoning
1 tbsp sugar
6 tbsp soy sauce
radish
2 stems pechay leaves, chopped.
slurry – (if you want a thick sauce – (dissolve 1 tbsp cornstarch with 1cup water)
Pre heat oil for a minute.
fry radish for 4 minutes until brown set aside.
Pre heat same left over oil
Add onions, tomato and ginger and cook for 3 minutes until fragrant.
Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Add soy sauce, sugar, knorr liquid seasoning.
Bring to a boil.
Add squid and pechay.
Cover and cook for 3 minutes using medium heat.
Uncover and add slurry.
Continue to cook until sauce is thickened (2 minutes)
Add fried radish.
Serve.
