BEEF KALDERETA (KALDERETANG BAKA)

Serving: 12 people
4 tbsp cooking oil
5 cloves garlic, minced
3 pcs onions, peeled and chopped
1 kilo fresh tomato, chopped
2 kilos beef, cubed
250 grams tomato sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
5 pcs chili pepper chopped
1 small can reno liver spread (use half)
250 grams crushed pickles
4 medium size potato, peeled and diced
3 medium size carrot, peeled and diced
5 medium size bell pepper, cored, seeded, and cut the same size as carrots and potatoes
165 grams grated cheese
Pre heat oil for a minute.
Saute garlic and onions for 2 minutes.
Add beef and season with fish sauce.
Add chopped tomatoes, cover and simmer for 1 hour. (medium to high heat)
Add the chopped chili pepper and liver spread.
Cover and simmer again for 30 minutes using medium to high heat.
Uncover, add brown sugar.
Add crushed pickles.
Cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until the meat is tender.
Add potatoes and carrots.
Cover and simmer for 10 minutes
add cheese and bell pepper.
Cover and adjust heat to low.
Simmer for 2 minutes.
Serve with steamed rice.
