800 grams chicken thighs
Marinade:
4 knobs ginger
10 cloves garlic
1 tbsp achuete powder
ground pepper
2 tbsp soy sauce
Juice of 1 lime
Marinate for 1 hour
1 1/2 cup water
6 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp brown sugar
ground pepper
1/2 cup ketchup
Java Rice
leftover sauce
1 tbsp butter
5 cloves garlic
2 tbsp ketchup
Cooking the dish:
cooking spray
Sear chicken until brown – total 5 minutes
Add 1 cup water to the marinade and pour into the pan.
6 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp brown sugar
ground pepper
1/2 cup ketchup
Cover and cook
Check occasionally to prevent from drying out – add water.
Cover and cook for more.
After a while – remove some juice from the pan for the sauce later.
when chicken is cooked, remove chicken and transfer to a bowl.
Use the leftover sauce from the pan to make java rice
by melting butter, adding garlic and kethcup.
then add rice.
