KUTCHINTA – CLASSIC AND BLACK KUTCHINTA
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Yields: 12 pcs/each color
1 ½ cup water
1 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp tbsp lye water
orange food color – for the classic color.
black food color for the black kutchinta
½ cup rice flour
½ cup sweet rice/glutinous rice flour
The recipe is good for one color of kutchinta. Make another batch for the black color kutchinta OR.. you can divide the recipe into two after combining it together (holding back on the food color). After it is divided – then proceed to adding the orange and black food color separately.
Coat molders with cooking spray and pour batter into each slot. Steam for 20 minutes then rest before unmolding. Serve with grated coconut.
