SAPIN SAPIN – TRI COLORED STEAMED STICKY SWEET RICE

RECIPE BELOW – JUST CHANGE THE FOOD COLOR TO UBE AND YELLOW. PROCEDURE IS THE SAME.
TRI COLORED MINI SAPIN SAPIN (VANILLA, ORANGE AND UBE)

Prep time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: Sapin sapin – 10 minutes
Yields: 1 round pan

2 cups Glutinous Rice Flour
1 cancondensed milk
1 can coconut milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 drops ube extract
2 drops orange food color

Combine flour, condensed milk and coconut milk,
Combine both and mix well until smooth.
Divide into 3.
Add vanilla flavor to the other mixture, orange into the second portion and add ube to the other.
Pour orange colored sapin sapin
Cover.
Steam for 3 minutes.
Uncover.
Uncover steamer basket and pour vanilla flavored mixture into cooked orange sapin sapin.
Cover.
Place towel on top before covering.
Steam for another 3minutes or until cooked.
Do the same with the ube flavored batter.
Cool down. Allow the edges to come off by itself.
Invert into a plate.
Sprinkle with coconut curd/latik
Slice and Serve.
Enjoy!
