PORK STEAK WITH GRAVY
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Yields: serves 2 with steamed rice
1lb boneless pork chop cut into large pieces
1/2 tsp ground pepper
5 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp soy sauce
Juice of 1 lemon (4 tbsp)
4 tbsp cooking oil
1 large onion, peeled and cut into rings
2 cups broth (chicken or pork)
Slurry 1 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 3 tbsp water
Combine pork with ground pepper,garlic,soy and lemon juice.
Marinate for an hour.
Pre heat oil for a minute.
Brown pork (3 minutes each side)
Add onions and cook for 30 seconds.
remove some of the onions for garnish later.
Meanwhile, continue cooking the pork
Add 2 cups broth.
Cover and continue to cook until pork is tender (6 minutes)
Add slurry.
Stir to make the sauce thick.
Add onions.
Serve with steamed rice.
