PORK BULGOGI
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serves: 4
1 lb ground pork with fat
1/4 cup oyster sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp cooking oil
FOR THE RICE:
You will need steamed rice (cook 2 cups of rice)
1 cup instant oatmeal
1 cup water
Combine all ingredients in a bowl except for the cooking oil.
Add oil in a pan and add meat.
Cook for 3 minutes or longer until brown and crispy.
You may cook it longer and regulate heat to medium.
I ended up cooking the pork for 10 minutes until super crispy. Keep stirring.
Meanwhile cook rice according to instructions. – here’s what makes this dish slightly healthier – i added 1 cup of instant oatmeal 5 minutes into cooking the rice. (you may omit this and just use plain steamed rice).
Continue to cook adding 1 cup of water until grains are fully cooked.
To serve – ladle rice into a bowl.
top with ground pork
garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
