How to make pepper steak:
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Yields: 3 to 4 with steamed rice
1 ½ pound beef chuck thinly sliced
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp ground pepper
½ tsp salt
3 tbsp cooking oil
1 large yellow onion, peeled and cut into strips
2 cups sugar snap peas
2 large green bell peppers, seeded and cut into strips
5 cloves garlic, minced.
½ cup oyster sauce
Combine beef with cornstarch, salt and pepper in a bowl. Set aside.
Meanwhile, pre heat oil
Add bell pepper, onion and sugar snap peas.
2 minutes into pan frying the vegetables, add garlic
Cook for 30 seconds.
Remove vegetables from the pan and transfer to a plate.
Slowly add beef strips and cook one side for 3 minutes until brown.
Turn over and cook the other side for another 3 minutes.
Stir and continue to cook beef until soft, another 3 minutes.
Remove some of the oil from the pan.
Add oyster sauce and stir.
Add vegetables, stir and turn off heat.
