MANOK SA GISANTES (CREAMY CHICKEN AND GREEN PEAS)

Cooking time: 1 hour
Yields: serves 12 people with steamed rice
6 tbsp cooking oil
2 onions, peeled and chopped
7 cloves garlic, minced
2 kilos chicken – dressed, cut up into big pieces
5 cans guisantes or canned peas (155 grams each), brine removed
1 250 ml pack all purpose cream
4 medium size potato, peeled and cut into medium dice
4 medium size bell pepper, seeded cored and cut same into big chunks
Patis or fish sauce
Ground black pepper
Pre heat cooking oil for a minute.
Saute garlic and onion for a minute.
Add chicken and fish sauce
You may add ground pepper as well.
Cover and simmer for about 10 min (use medium heat)
Add guisantes or green peas. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes
Add 1 glass of water or more if you want it brothy.
Taste and adjust with fish sauce or salt and ground pepper.
Cover and simmer for 10 more minutes
Add bell pepper and nestle cream.
Cover and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes
