TOASTED ENSAYMADA FLAN
Prep time: 10 minutes
Yields: 4 sandwiches
8 pcs white bread, edges trimmed
1 cup milk (evaporated)
1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs, beaten
8 tbsp butter
extra sugar for dusting
extra parmesan cheese for toppings
Combine milk and sugar then add eggs.
Soak bread slices making sure it is soft but not falling apart.
then melt 2 tbsp butter (per sandwich) using a griddle.
place soaked bread (cook in batches)
Use medium heat.
Add more sugar on top.
Add grated cheese on top each.
Toast for 2 minutes.
Turn one and place on top of the other bread.
Use low heat.
Cook for another minute or longer to brown.
Cook the other side for a minute until brown.
When serving – add more sugar and cheese on top.
