HOW TO MAKE UBE PALITAW – STICKY RICE CAKES WITH SUGAR AND SESAME SEEDS

UBE PALITAW/FLOATING STICKY SWEET RICE CAKES WITH CHOPPED PEANUTS
This recipe yields 6 rice cakes

1 cup glutinous rice flour
1/2 cup water
Ube flavoring (optional)
1/2 cup toasted chopped peanuts

1/2 cup grated coconut
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp black or white sesame seeds

Combine flour and water and form a play dough texture.
Mold into small balls using your hands and flatten.
Slowly release into boiling water and cook for 4 minutes until it floats.
Place in a tray lined with clean towel. Make sure you coat the towel with cooking spray so it wont stick.
Cool down.
Remove from the tray and roll into grated coconut, then brown sugar then add nuts and sesame seeds. That is the traditional way without the peanuts.
I just presented it differently in the video for a cleaner presentation. (it can get messy sometimes when you roll it with the toppings and appear sloppy on video) That’s all. Enjoy..
