GINISANG SAYOTE/ PICADILLONG SAYOTE
Prep time: 10 minutesCooking time:Yields: Serves 4 with steamed rice
2 to 4 tbsp cooking oil1/2 lb ground pork1 medium size onion, peeled and chopped1 large tomato, chopped5 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb sayote/chayote (peeled, pitted and cut into bite size pieces)2 cups chicken or pork broth
fish sauce – season it according to your preferenceSeason with ground pepper.
Pre heat oil for a minute.Add pork and cook for 3 minutes.Add onions and tomatoes.SauteAdd garlic and cook for 5 minutes.Cover.Uncover
Add sayote. Stir and cook for 2 minutes.CoverUncover and add broth. Cover
Bring to a boil. Cook for 2 minutes.
Uncover.
Add fish sauce and season with ground pepper.Cover and cook until sayote is tender using medium heat.Cook it for 8 minutes.Turn off heat and serve.
